Butler Ross have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join an exciting manufacturing company based out of the Peak District who are looking to expand their team and hire an experienced Buyer to join their team and make a real difference in the procurement team and also the wider business.
This position is 100% office based in the Peak District.
Duties of the Senior Buyer
- Placing orders and working closely with suppliers to improve overall performance and build an excellent working relationship.
- Being a key negotiator in contracts, cost improvement and terms of business, ensuring best in practice tools are used.
- Research and evaluate the performance of suppliers looking to constantly improve the supply chain and supplier base.
- Foster relationships with internal stakeholders and be able to influence decision making.
- Strong attention to detail with documentation and recording information clearly.
- Always working collaboratively within the company and with external stakeholders and suppliers.
Experience Required for the Senior Buyer
- At least 5 years experience in procurement in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong IT skills including MRP/ERP system usage and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence decision making.
- Experience with supplier selection and auditing.
- A natural team player who can work on their own initiative.
Location: 100% office based in the Peak District.
Hours: 8am-4:45pm Monday - Thursday with a 12:30 finish on a Friday.
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000.
This role would be well suited to a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Sourcing Officer, Procurement Officer, Category Manager or Commodity Manager.
