Job Title: Senior Buyer

Our client is a leading NHS Trust committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our procurement process, focusing on estates, engineering, and clinical supplies. If you are a seasoned professional with a track record of achieving cost savings, possess expertise in commercial buying (directs and indirects), and have a background in the NHS, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage procurement activities for a range of categories including estates, engineering, and clinical supplies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic initiatives to optimise procurement processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on procurement strategies.
- Conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts to ensure value for money.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships to enhance service delivery.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform procurement decisions.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of the procurement team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior Buyer with a focus on estates, engineering, or clinical procurement.
- Demonstrated success in achieving cost savings and optimizing procurement processes.
- Experience in commercial buying, including both direct and indirect categories.
- Familiarity with Public Sector procurement policies and procedures (NHS experience preferred).
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
