Our client is a leading NHS Trust committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our procurement process, focusing on estates, engineering, and clinical supplies. If you are a seasoned professional with a track record of achieving cost savings, possess expertise in commercial buying (directs and indirects), and have a background in the NHS, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage procurement activities for a range of categories including estates, engineering, and clinical supplies.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic initiatives to optimise procurement processes.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on procurement strategies.
* Conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts to ensure value for money.
* Manage relationships with suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships to enhance service delivery.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform procurement decisions.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of the procurement team.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Senior Buyer with a focus on estates, engineering, or clinical procurement.
* Demonstrated success in achieving cost savings and optimizing procurement processes.
* Experience in commercial buying, including both direct and indirect categories.
* Familiarity with Public Sector procurement policies and procedures (NHS experience preferred).
* Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication and leadership skills.
