Senior Buyer

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring goods, materials and services for the company in line with company operational needs, considering price, quality and delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective supply.

The Role:

• Demand analysis, purchase order generation and expedition.
• Manage the procurement of production & non production materials and services.
• Manage stock levels in line with company objectives and maintain accurate data.
• Supplier liaison and management, maintaining clear and timely lines of communication.
• Manage tender processes by gathering data, collating quotations, and arranging sample trials were applicable.
• Contract negotiation.
• New supplier assessment & set up.
• Lead development and implementation of a process to evaluate and report on supplier performance.
• Manage, maintain & follow purchasing processes and procedures.
• Manage and maintain purchasing databases and files including contracts, pricing, orders etc and provide reports to internal stakeholders.
• Support SAP purchasing implementation.
• Ensure known contractual position with all suppliers.
• Manage and support direct reports.

To apply for this Senior Buyer role, you will need previous experience within a similar role and at least 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. You will also require the following:

• Previous experience within a similar role
• CIPS qualified.
• Excellent communication skills and confident telephone manner
• Experience in dealing with suppliers both via telephone and email
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and resolve any issues
• The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload
• Experience of working within a busy and fast-paced administration role.
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn various systems.
• A positive, can-do attitude.
