The role
As a Senior Buyer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for identifying the procurement of materials, goods and services for the business to ensure the delivery of optimised financial, operational and contractual benefits.
Day to day, you will be engaging with suppliers and stakeholders to source the best products for the projects. You will also identify and drive cost reduction activities and be responsible for leading contractual negotiations.

• Responsible for generating and maintaining Strategic Sourcing Project Plan in support of the contract timelines and strategies
• Lead the development of appropriate procurement strategies utilising category management, sourcing projects, or other routes as appropriate
• Reporting and communicating sourcing / contract strategies and outcomes within Procurement, Babcock and the Customer as appropriate
• Guiding and influencing staff at senior levels, internally and externally, to establish and implement strategic sourcing initiatives
• Developing Key Supplier Relationships and providing an escalation point of contact.

This role is full time and will be based at Andover.
Essential experience of the Senior Buyer:

• Previous procurement experience
• Experience developing and implementing strategies
• Understanding of key cost drivers within a supply base
• Confident Negotiator
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Resilient and adaptable to change
• UK driving License

Qualifications for the Senior Buyer:

• Degree or significant relevant experience
• MCIPS 5 or equivalent is desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
