Reporting directly to the CPO, you'll join a large procurement function with 2 direct and 11 indirect reports.
In this role, you'll have accountability for delivering all tech-related procurement, supporting effective supplier management and contributing to the overall procurement strategy.
This role will also work closely with procurement operations to ensure reporting is provided accurately and on time, addressing the key MI requirements of each target audience.
With office locations in Edinburgh, Leeds and London with hybrid working you'll be required circa 2 days a week on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring commercial outcomes delivered across categories are optimal for the company
- Developing and managing a pipeline of procurement projects covering all spend
- Establishing and rolling out effective category strategies that align with business priorities
- Providing comprehensive advice, insights, and guidance on best practice procurement
- Making judgements on supply market capability to deliver requirements and develop alternatives
- Ensuring delivery of major tender processes meeting business needs
- Providing coaching and mentoring to the Category Managers to develop their capability, enhance their leadership capability
- Taking ownership as required of key supplier relationships and managing in line with business processes
Key Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable evidence of managing commercial and procurement teams in large complex organisations, with a focus on Digital, Data and Technology categories
- Proven procurement experience and relevant market knowledge with a track record of delivering significant procurement benefits including value for money and risk mitigation
- Knowledge and experience of Public Sector Procurement and its regulations
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent
- Driving and successfully implementing change programmes in ways of working and/or roles and responsibilities within a procurement or commercial function
