Senior Civil Design Engineer

Our client are  part of  an electrical engineering design and build contractor specializing in high voltage power transmission and distribution projects. Serving sectors such as utilities, renewable energy, rail, and private networks, we offer comprehensive engineering services across the full project life-cycle, from feasibility studies and design to installation, commissioning, and asset management.

About the Job:

We are seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to support the design, development, and coordination of civil and structural design within project portfolio. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Create and coordinate conceptual engineering drawings using CAD packages and sketches for drafting.
• Deliver efficient, effective, and quality services through flexible working and acceptance of responsibility.
• Develop project plans, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and timelines for construction projects.
• Ensure that projects comply with relevant codes, regulations, and standards; obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Conduct site visits to assess construction progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
• Work closely with designers and other professionals to integrate various project elements.
• Monitor and track project budgets and costs, identifying and addressing any deviations from the original plan.
• Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Monitor design progress and manage the design program of sub-consultants and contractors.
• Identify and support opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and business improvement.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams, and other professionals to integrate civil and structural designs into overall project designs.
• Conduct inspections and assessments to ensure that construction activities align with approved structural designs.
• Ensure all safety, quality, technical, and commercial requirements are met.
• Identify opportunities for technical and business process improvement and innovation, developing business cases where required.
• Support all types of projects from tendering to handover, ensuring work is completed on time, to required quality standards, and within budget.
• Represent Integrum at a national level, ensuring all enquiries are handled appropriately and a positive image of the company is maintained.

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Sound knowledge of applicable policies, standards, and national legislation.
• Extensive experience in the development of engineering technology.
• Experience in railway/energy infrastructure management or a similar safety-critical environment.
• Proficiency in civil engineering project management software, such as Civil 3D, Telka TEDDS, and CityEngine, as well as CAD.
