Senior Civil Engineer / Technician Opportunities in Exeter - Salary: 30,000 to 45,000 (doe)

Established over 75 years ago this impressive design led company have established a strong reputation for their approach to solution engineering and now have an opening for an Engineer or accomplished Technician to join their dynamic Exeter team and contribute to a variety of projects across residential, commercial, industrial, education, and health sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on infrastructure, highways, and drainage design, scheme development, and preliminary and detailed design.
- Mentor and support junior team members, leveraging your industry experience.
- Utilize AutoCAD proficiently, including the management of external references, control of coordinates, and units.
- Produce designs for highways, drainage, and residential development, with experience in tools like Windes, PDS, Civils 3D, and Site 3D (training available as needed).
- Create ground models, horizontal and vertical geometry for road design, drainage modeling, and residential site 3D design.
- Apply knowledge of design codes such as DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, Design Construction Guidance for adoptable sewers, Building Regulations, etc.
- Generate designs for adoption (S38 / S278 / S104 / S106) and consistently deliver high-quality work.
- Work independently, liaising directly with clients, leading client meetings, and applying technical understanding to anticipate and address project requirements.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Relevant ONC or HNC qualification (e.g., Civil Engineering or Construction and the Built Environment) OR BEng in Civil Engineering or similar.
- Strong AutoCAD skills, including external references, coordinate control, and unit management.
- Experience in highways, drainage, and residential development designs.
- Familiarity with tools like Windes, PDS, Civils 3D, and Site 3D (training available).
- Understanding of design codes and regulations such as DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, etc.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality work and work autonomously.
- Enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills.
