The main duties of the Senior Clinical Pharmacist role include:
- Utilise pharmaceutical expertise to contribute to patient care within a hospital, supporting the pharmacy department in delivering an exceptional medicine management service. Oversee the procurement, preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines. Supervise junior staff members in delivering the medicine management service and, if necessary, assume responsibility for specialized clinical service.
- Facilitate the daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring the safe and effective management of medicines for all patients, staff, consultants, and customers.
- Offer clinical guidance regarding medications for all patients.
- Ensure precise and prompt billing processes.
- Guarantee adherence to all relevant regulatory, professional, and best practice frameworks.
What we are looking for in a successful candidate:
- Pharmacy degree (MPharm, BSc, or BPharm).
- General Pharmaceutical Council registration as a licensed pharmacist.
- Familiarity with General Pharmaceutical Council Codes of Professional Conduct, Ethics, and Performance and their implications in practice.
- Completion of a postgraduate clinical diploma in clinical pharmacy (hospital) or equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of the Care Standards Act and Care Quality Commission Requirements.
- An appropriate amount of experience working in a hospital setting, particularly in oncology,
