The Major Projects Commercial Delivery team are working across England to improve our strategic road network and release economic capacity faster than at any other time in the last 50 years. With secure funding for 50 major construction projects in the next 5-10 years, we need are looking for passionate team players who can own and deliver successful outcomes with integrity.
You will be joining a team of over 900 delivery professionals in programmes that are set to change highways construction, influencing the infrastructure market to drive improved productivity, reduce carbon and deliver increased digital capability.

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a consistent and high-quality commercial service which will cover; investment decisions, budget management, commercial management and performance management and contract administration.
Base Location: Leeds with flexibility to travel when required to allow regular attendance on site.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | with flexible working options available.
What you’ll be leading on
Lead on the commercial and contract management of schemes/contracts and ensure that all works/services are managed in line with the contracts or frameworks being used.
Potential line management responsibility for one or more commercial teams within a region and oversee the work of the teams.
Provide commercial support across a range of activities, aiding decision making on commercial efficiencies, acting as a source of authoritative advice on contract administration, cost capture, analysis, performance, related intelligence and opportunities for performance improvement.
Proficient in claims, compensation and dispute management in line with the contract/framework.
Drive any new procurements supported by Procurement and undertake contract document review and tender assessments.
Continuous analysis and review of contract and contractor performance including cost performance to identify and implement improvements.
To be successful you’ll need
Experience of leading and managing commercial teams including matrix management.
Proven ability to contribute to, and communicate programme and organisational aims to align efforts and deliver outcomes.
Demonstrable experience of optimising value for money outcomes.
Significant knowledge of NEC forms of contract. Experience of procurement and commercial management using NEC forms of contract.
Proven track record of working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Desirable to have or be working towards a relevant professional qualification, RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers) or equivalent.
