About the team and role
Come gain valuable experience in this rewarding role in our talented and dedicated communications team. Our team ensures that messages get out to our communities using a variety of different channels. This could be working with the press, creating engaging online and social media content or writing targeted newsletters. The messages aren’t always easy to get across and we need to advise senior leaders on the best approaches using effective communication strategies that will land with our target audiences.
By getting messaging right you’ll help make a real difference to communities by ensuring they’re well informed about all sorts of different projects and services. You’ll also get the opportunity to work on messages for internal colleagues on changes within the organisation or celebrating their successes.
About you
To be successful you will need experience working in communications or marketing. You’ll need excellent organisational skills to allow you to prioritise your workload to keep on top of conflicting priorities. We also need to be able to effectively communicate with senior leaders including managers and politicians. You’ll need to be able to take complicated messages and make them easy to understand and have a good working knowledge of how to effectively communicate with different audiences.
