The Opportunity:
Imago Techmedia – Clarion’s leading technology event series focusing on digital transformation, digital workplace, and customer experience - are seeking a creative and ambitious Senior Conference Producer to take a leading content role within this fast-growing portfolio.
The candidate will support the production on DTX+UCX Manchester Expo (May,’24) with the view to play a more pivotal role in the content development of the flagship DTX+UCX London Expo (Oct, ’24), managing 4-5 programmes.
This dynamic role combines the production of exciting and diverse content programmes with a longer-term view to take ownership of a specific technology area, becoming immersed in a community of end users and vendors, understanding their needs, challenges, and opportunities to play a strategic role in the creation and delivery of new and/or evolving features and formats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct year-round research with both the buyer (digital/IT teams from enterprises) and seller (technology vendors) communities, plus industry associations and analysts.
- Develop thorough understanding of the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities from both sides.
- Curate event programmes that continually meet the changing needs and interests of our buyer community whilst also being commercially viable.
- Write event programmes plus marketing copy that communicates events benefits succinctly and ensure events stands out from competitors.
- Identify, invite, and secure speakers and moderators with a focus on quality of brand, seniority of speaker and diversity of lineup.
- Support the account management of sponsors working with them to improve their programme presence helping them maximise their investment.
- Support wider functions (i.e. sponsorship, marketing, and delegate/VIP) creating an educational yet succinct brief to provide a clear picture of product, programme and tech area.
- Develop and maintain relationships with individuals and organisations to understand strategic objectives and to research, validate and launch new formats or topic areas.
- Bring an entrepreneurial mindset by generating new topic ideas, reconceptualising existing propositions and/or launching new events, products, and formats.
- Ensure smooth running of the event onsite liaising and building rapport with sponsors, speakers and delegates.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:
- Experience in conference production developing event programmes which deliver both customer engagement and sponsor revenue.
- Confidence to communicate with and influence both C-level executives and technical roles (i.e. IT Managers, Software Architects/Engineers, and Developers).
- Ability to identify, establish and maintain relationships building trust both internally and with external partners, speakers, or sponsors.
- Strong writing proficiency, presentation skills, and creativity in message delivery, combined with strong attention to detail.
- Drive to continually improve the value and experience delivered to all key stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen: Understanding of our business model, the needs of our clients and their motivations for attending our events.
- Strong project management skills to ensure smooth execution of event onsite.
- Self-disciplined, motivated and organised with the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple workload and work under pressure.
- A proactive, constructive, and solution-focused approach to obstacles.
- Ambition to grow, develop and contribute to the success of a wider portfolio taking ownership of a specific part of the portfolio.
