Senior Consultant Machine Safety Engineer

SENIOR CONSULTANT MACHINE SAFETY ENGINEER - PERMANENT POSITION - £50,000 - £57,000 BASIC SALARY - COMPANY CAR ALLOWANCE SCHEME + GREAT BENEFITS PACKAGE

Working within the Engineering Services department as part of the machinery team to carry out PUWER / LOLER Assessments as a fee earning specialist, installation and operation quality checks on base builds, carrying out third party witnessing of load testing, witnessing other inspections and supporting the Service Lead.

General Duties:

• As a Senior Consultant Machine Safety Engineer, your role will be to carry out PUWER / LOLER Assessments
• Act as an independent witness for load testing and for other tasks
• Provide technical expertise within the PUWER / LOLER Regulations.
• Keep up to date with developments in Standards and Legislation affecting UKCA / CE Marking.
• Work to the machinery Procedures within the business to meet the requirements of Technical Competency Testing and Technical Audits.
• Compiling accurate conformity assessment reports.
• Develop suitable product inspection and test plans to ensure conformity.
• Witnessing of testing and inspection of components post testing and recording / confirming results.
• Development of competence for machinery under Group 17 of The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.

THE PERSON

• The successful Senior Consultant Machine Safety Engineer must a HNC or above/equivalent in a mechanical or electrical role
• We are looking for someone with a good understanding of The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations and good understanding of machinery conformity for UKCA/ CE
• A solid background in machinery safety and in the application of PUWER and LOLER, including the PUWER assessment of machinery.
• Experience and knowledge of Machine Safety systems and processes
• Knowledge of PUWER LOLER Assessments
• Full UK driving license
• Live in the North West or Nationwide
