Here at Houseful, we are looking for a talented Senior Content Editor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

As a Senior Content Editor, you will play a crucial role in curating and editing high-quality content for our website, emails, and app. You will work closely with our content team and freelance contributors to ensure the delivery of engaging and informative content that resonates with our target audience. A portion of the role will involve supporting one of our Product teams with Content Design.

Key responsibilities

Content Design

  • Support product teams to research, design and create user journeys across the site.
  • Apply a user-centric approach to content design.
  • Edit and publish content using the Contentful CMS.
  • Contribute to content strategy and planning.
  • Contribute to stats reporting on content performance using Google Analytics and ContentSquare.

Editing

  • Create, develop and edit written content for our website, emails and app (for editorial content examples see /research and /guides).
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency.
  • Collaborate with our content team to brainstorm and generate ideas for new content.
  • Help manage freelancers, including assigning tasks, providing feedback and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all content follows established style guidelines and brand voice.
  • Optimise content for SEO to improve organic visibility.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in content creation and editing.
  • Contribute to CRM email sends.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience as a Content Editor, Content Designer or similar role.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and SEO best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and emerging content formats.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the housing market is a plus.
