50 Best is seeking a skilled and experienced content expert with excellent writing, presenting and organisational skills and strong knowledge of the restaurant sector.

The 50 Best Restaurants portfolio comprises The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants and Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants, with annual event programmes in each territory. Further expansion is also planned.

The brand celebrates the greatest restaurants and chefs across the world, providing original content and thought leadership to a global consumer audience of food lovers. The successful candidate will also advise and support across the wider 50 Best portfolio, which includes The World’s 50 Best Bars, The World’s 50 Best Hotels and our travel-led database, 50 Best Discovery.

Position

Role: Full time (35hr per week) Permanent.

Location: Hybrid: Office based Crawley (2 days) London (1 day)

This is a senior role managing the 50 Best Restaurants event programmes and related content , delivered across multiple digital platforms and at live events. The Senior Content Editor - Restaurants will also lead on liaising with the restaurant sector, including working with the leading global players within the field.

What you’ll be doing as our Senior Content Editor:

  • Day to day operational management of the 50 Best Restaurants portfolio, covering the voting process, content and talent liaison - in collaboration with 50 Best’s overall Director of Content
  • Oversight of 50 Restaurants digital content output; including content creation; commissioning and editing (words and images), plus some interviewing and writing
  • Management of 50 Best Restaurants specialists within the 50 Best content team
  • Input into, and liaison on, PR and communications, which is led by 50 Best’s Head of PR & Communications
  • Hosting of live events -on-stage discussions, press conferences, dinners etc, where required
  • Ideating, executing and hosting editions of #50BestTalks - a series of in-person, thought-leadership events
  • Management of the Academy Chairs group, who head up voting for 50 Best Restaurants lists
  • 50 Best Restaurants sponsor campaign concept co-creation and project management
  • Management of 50 Best Restaurants content budgets

What you’ll need:

• Food/restaurant sector expertise

• Knowledge of wider travel and lifestyle sectors

• Organisational skills; ability to multi-task under pressure

• Strong writing, copy editing and commissioning skills

• Ability to balance audience engagement with sponsor requirements

• Live presenting competence and experience

• Ability to conceive, curate and co-ordinate content for live events

• Ability to represent the 50 Best brands in liaison with key stakeholders

• Language skills a major advantage
