To managekey contracts within its UK Projects and Construction Onshore business constructing a vast portfolio of windfarms, Solar and Battery Projects across the UK and Ireland. Working closely with and supported by the wider Projects and Construction teams, Legal, Insurance, Financial and Group Purchasing teams to ensure contracts are managed effectively.
Reporting to the Capex and Contracts Manager and be responsible for development and implementation of Commercial Management for ScottishPower Renewables Onshore Projects and Construction Business.
Capex dimensions: Circa 400MW of Wind £1.2m/MW equalling £500m and BESS and Solar equalling £500-700m of annual capex (based on 2022), to support growth targets of 2GW of additional installed Wind and New Solar Power by the end of 2025 and a further 3GW by the end of 2030.
Contract dimensions: Merger & Acquisition opportunities at 1-2GW evaluated per annum Circa 800MW of solar with FID in 2022-23 equalling ~£300m
The Senior Contract Manager will support defining contracting strategies and plans, tendering, negotiating, and managing multi-million-pound onshore Equipment Supply and Project implementation contracts. In addition, the individual will be responsible for supporting development, and driving implementation of procedures within the Contracts and Capex function for use across the Projects and Construction business area.
Providing skilled contract management through robust understanding of SPR business requirements and commercial contract terms to support current and future business strategy.
What you'll be doing
For all UK Onshore turbine and infrastructure supply contract tenders, be the Projects and Construction Commercial representative for contract specifications and processes
Responsible for providing development and line management responsibility of other contract managers in the function and line management
Leading the end to end commercial contract cycle, involving strategy, procurement, implementation, management and claims phases of multi-million-pound critical contracts.
Leading the development and implementation of contract strategies for the SPR UK Onshore Construction Portfolio to maximise contract value and mitigate risk
Working closely with the Procurement team and Construction teams to prepare detailed contract scope for invitations to tender for designated contracts that clearly set out SPR's technical and commercial requirements. Liaising with the Legal team and Projects and Construction management team to determine the most appropriate form of contract.
What you'll bring
Educated to degree level in Engineering or Commercial discipline and expertise developed through recent relevant experience
Experience in commercial and contractual aspects of technology and industrial engineering projects
Experience in leading contractual negotiations of and managing multiple multi-million pound complex contracts against time pressures based on business objectives
Strong ability to manage own performance with focus on delivery within a varied and challenging workload whilst producing high quality results
Good understanding, experience and application of Health and Safety Principles in industrial engineering projects, and the compliance of Project Construction activities and Site Regulations
Strong Working knowledge of SAP Experience of Power BI or equivalent reporting tools
Ability to travel to projects across the UK and Ireland and internationally as required
