Senior Corporate Communications Officer
Salary: £40,000 including car allowance, plus excellent benefits
Location: Hybrid working, with office base near Enfield north London (EN2 9HG)
Type of position: Permanent
We’re looking for an experienced, confident and capable Corporate Communications professional to create and run outstanding communications campaigns.
We’re the award winning Lee Valley Regional Park Authority: responsible for 26 miles of world class sports and leisure venues - including three London 2012 legacy venues which are open for everyone to enjoy – and thousands of acres of glorious open space. We stretch from the Thames through Essex to Hertfordshire and attract over eight million visits a year through everything from major international televised sports tournaments to volunteer-led walks to school trips to visits to open spaces.
We have ambitious plans, great stories to tell and some fantastic communications projects in the pipeline.
We need someone who can land our news and messages with corporate, stakeholder, opinion forming and internal audiences, positioning us in the sport, leisure and environment sectors and in London forums. You’ll create and implement compelling campaigns using the full range of communication tools to build our standing with these groups. While your main focus will be these corporate and influencer audiences, you’ll also be comfortable using PR to reach consumers and visitors. This is an all-round role and you would ideally have experience in all of these areas.
It’s important that you’re a completer finisher as, although this role is part of a six-person team, you’ll have responsibility for all aspects of your work – from planning activity, through to building partnerships, crafting materials, arranging visits, landing coverage, running internal communications and reporting on your work.
You’ll need tenacity to dig out information and spot stories from our varied activities and will be outgoing enough to develop relationships with a range of staff and external stakeholders. You’ll be a natural project manager, able to juggle multiple projects at once.
To be considered for this Senior Corporate Communications Officer position, you’ll need:
- Demonstrable experience of Corporate Communications techniques and of developing and delivering communications strategies
- Experience working at a similar level in an agency or in-house corporate comms or PR environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong attention to detail
- Effective relationship building and the ability to establish rapport and influence others
- Previous stakeholder management experience with the ability to identify and engage with key groups including employees, partner organisations and media
- Experience of using social media effectively in a professional communications context
- Issues and crisis communications experience
Experience in tourism, sport, attractions or destination communications would be highly desirable, as would a network of contacts in our area and experience managing third party agencies
This position is hybrid. You’ll be partly working at home with part of the week at our offices in picturesque Victorian gardens near Enfield, but you must have access to your own vehicle in order to get around the 10,000 acre park.
