Your new company\'s a large main contractor that constructs new build assets and refurbishes existing commercial social housing and public buildings across London and the South East. They are looking to expand their professional services offering to their clients and their in-house cost planning function as well.
Your new role is as Senior Cost Planner to join our construction team. You will be assisting in early cost estimating for the construction business pipeline of work in line with RIBA planned stages of work or Office of Government Commerce (OGC) gateways etc. to ensure that pricing levels are realistic and met during the tender period and through the pre-construction phase. As a Senior Cost Planner, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of cost plans and cost advice, under guidance from the head of department, including those of a complex nature or high in value £100m+. You will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate measurements from tender documentation. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of tender price and construction price inflation forecasting and finally, you will be accountable for assisting commercial stakeholders in the change process within the cost planning function through RIBA gateways and the like.
What you\'ll need to succeed is training in Quantity Surveying and have experience with a contractor or private practice consultancy and be expert at the front end of the construction process, EG, the cost planning element of the procurement and contract process. You will have the right to work in the UK and have excellent communication and numerical skills. Only UK-based candidates need to apply.
