SF are working with a market leader, with over 60 years experience, a wide range of products across their many brands supplying customers here in the UK and across Europe. They are a experiencing growth and looking to expand their finance and credit division with experienced AR/Credit professionals. Fast paced, high volume and high performing credit department. The role will work within the Finance Shared Services Team to ensure efficient, effective credit and collections service is provided to the business and to the customers, suppliers and colleagues.
This is a newly created role within a Credit team of 10, supporting the Credit Control Supervisor
Your new role:
- Where you will have no direct reports, you will have elements within your role of supporting the Credit Supervisor in running and leading the team
- Proactively managing your own ledger, making sure bad debt is kept to a minimum.
- Setting up new accounts, credit checking and setting limits
- Resolving queries in a timely manner, ensuring customers pay to agreed payment terms.
- Building strong working relationships across the business with sales, customer services and ops to make sure any customer issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
- Daily bank reconciliation and cash allocation
- Assist with calculation of bad debt provision
- Putting and releasing accounts on hold, making commercial decisions to help the business but also to mitigate any risk.
- Process invoices relating to Promotional Sales, Marketing Fees, Customer Complaints etc which customers raise as deductions from payments.
What you'll need:
- 5+ years experience in Credit control, ideally within the wholesale/retail space
- Experience in training new staff
- Strong query management skills
- Great customer service outlook
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Good Excel skills (Vlookups + formula) Pivots are desirable but not essential
