The Senior BI Developer will support data team members through upskilling, mentoring and coaching, so that the team can confidently drive BI solutions and approaches across the business.
The person in post will work within an agile data product team and engage with business stakeholders to understand their requirements in context to business intelligence, as well as design and develop meaningful data products. Through the collection, processing and interpreting of large and complex datasets, the Senior BI Developer will apply analytical techniques to generate meaningful MI, actionable insights and will present these to the business.

About you
You’ll have advanced technical skills and considerable experience in Business Intelligence within the financial service industry. You will also have expert knowledge of various reporting/analytics tools (Power BI and Cognos - preferred, QlikView and Tableau - beneficial).
Experienced in data visualisation, building interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports, you’ll have the ability to work closely with our business stakeholders, foster strong relationships and trust to understand their business needs and translate these to technical data requirements to then develop fit for purpose quality data products. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing a data culture and data mindset by proposing innovative new ideas and sharing the art of the possible with data.
You will have strong experience of implementing data governance and data risk principles in your BI solutions, building on cloud warehousing design and engineering. You’ll play a lead role in defining and establishing standards, formulating data product development lifecycles and methodologies, and embedding best practices for BI (both within the team and across the society).
As an excellent communicator, you’ll have the ability to use data to tell a story and present this to key stakeholders. You’ll have excellent attention to detail and a strong appreciation for end user report/dashboard consumption including design thinking and UX/UI principles.
You’ll have hands on experience of upskilling and training junior members of the team.
