Senior Designer

For us to succeed in our mission, we need Senior Designers to spearhead our team in high quality technical design for all stages of our projects. From directing the technical design, defining deliverables, to 2D/3D drawing output for our fabrication and install teams. You’ll have a keen eye for detail in design for manufacture (DFM) and design for install (DFI), leading the design elements of all our projects. We pride ourselves on outstanding design and you’ll advocate for quality control of internal and third-party design and fabrication information.

This isn’t a siloed role and you’ll be expected to collaborate across the business, including with the Company Directors and Senior Management Team.

Why you’ll be our ideal candidate:

• You’ll have held previous roles at Senior Designer level and be a natural empath
• You’ll demonstrable knowledge of Timber Design and fabrication processes experience
• Software such as Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit/SolidWorks, MS Project will be your best friends Excellent communicator – as you collaborate cross-functionally and with external contractors, suppliers and subcontractors
• You’ll be a natural problem solver, curious and motivated to find solutions
• Ability to visit our sites and see our creations come to life
• You are driven by continuous improvement, defining the design process and structure to help maintain Xylotek’s standards, templates and guides.

• Online interview with Head of Production Design to understand your motivations for applying and find out if there is a mutual fit + find out more about us and the role.
• A technical interview at our Bristol office with Design Director so hear about your projects on the technical design side, the specific challenges and your contributions to the team including problem solving and collaboration. You'll also have a chance to meet more of the team and see us in action.
