Fixed Term - 2 Years in the first instance About the Role A rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior Developer to join Project Transform you will work across the Project Team and the BAU Team in IT Services. A project of this size and magnitude only comes along once in a generation here at Edge Hill University, you can influence a real change to the student journey. You will immerse in the intricacies of interconnected IT systems, fostering the development of your skills, knowledge and understanding. Tackle challenges by providing innovative solutions that address issues within the IT landscape. Your contributions will have a direct impact on improving the efficiency of the student record system. You’ll have the opportunity to refine your skills and stay abreast of the latest advancements in IT systems. The main responsibilities of the role include: Take technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of programme software development, leading architectural design and integrations. Liaise with application supplier/vendor and Cloud hosting providers at a technical level, communicating across the full spectrum of colleagues, system users and external collaborators. Use database management system software and tools, and knowledge of relational database schema, to investigate problems and collect performance statistics and create reports. This position grants you the privilege of witnessing and understanding how change transpires across an organization. Knowledge in IT services, business systems and applications is essential, awareness of relevant IT platforms and environments. Ability to lead key IT projects and motivate/influence all colleagues and manage end-user expectations. Extensive technical and business expertise with a commitment to excellent customer service.
