Position:Senior Development Engineer

Location: Lowestoft

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

We have an exciting Senior Development Engineer opportunity working with our engineering & manufacturing team in Lowestoft.
Our team consist of experienced engineers who are passionate about successfully developing and innovating our technology.
Each team member has a ‘hands on' approach and supports each other for the benefit of our products and customers.
As the Senior Development Engineer you will work with external suppliers and internal teams to define and execute all the development test activity for our products & technology.
You will act as primary point of contact for all development test activities for our initial and ongoing products.

Main responsibilities for the Senior Development Engineer:

• To improve the Product Design through experimental techniques


• Plan and manage the Development Validation Planning activities.


• Where in house facilities are not available for a particular test, procure the relevant service at an external provider.


• Lead the product development activity in-house and externally at suppliers / Engineering Service Providers.


• Specify and install appropriate instrumentation based on test requirements.


• Lead the Root Cause analysis of any Test Incidences, using a structured 8D process for problem resolution.


• Working closely with the Design Team to deliver targets.


• Make sure all products successfully pass all Functional, Durability and Reliability testing.


• Author technical reports from the test activity as evidence to support the Engineering Sign Off documentation.


• Produce Test and Development status reports to the Leadership Team

Skills and experience for the Senior Development Engineer vacancy:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or HND preferred.


• Prior experience with Propulsion engineering, Automotive or Marine experience will be considered.


• Ability to understand technical issues.


• Focused approach with results orientated; 'can do' attitude.


• Ability to communicate externally & internally at all levels, with focus on technical items.


• Always Operating with full integrity.


• Relationship builder.


• Process driven.


• Worked in a Small, Medium Enterprise (SME)


• High energy to drive results with enthusiasm and pace.


• Willingness to travel, when necessary.
