Job description

As our Senior Director, Early Careers Talent Acquisition, you will own the development of our strategy for all global early career talent efforts. The focus will be to enhance, evolve and expand our existing programs to design and build a commercial and scalable global offering. Partnering with the Talent Acquisition Leads and developing strong partnerships with our senior business leaders, DEI and Talent teams to ensure the programs support the business goals and future talent needs.

Our global Talent Acquisition team is comprised of talent scouts who are passionate about strategically advising hiring leaders with talent data, insights, and market intelligence to proactively source, assess, and pursue the best talent around the world – hiring smarter and faster.

As our Senior Director, Early Careers Talent Acquisition, you will own the development of our strategy for all global early career talent efforts. The focus will be to enhance, evolve and expand our existing programs to design and build a commercial and scalable global offering. Partnering with the Talent Acquisition Leads and developing strong partnerships with our senior business leaders, DEI and Talent teams to ensure the programs support the business goals and future talent needs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of an innovative global early career strategy that aligns with and advances business objectives. Serve as the subject matter expert on these efforts and influence buy-in from key senior leaders and stakeholders, including required investments of time, resources, and spend across the regions in which we operate around the globe.
  • Enhance and elevate our approach, strategy and channels for recruiting early career talent based on industry best practices, including service and operations, apprenticeships, internships, our leadership development program (LDP), and other entry points for early career talent globally.
  • Partner closely with our Talent team to develop and position our early career programs – ensuring we have a consistent, enterprise-wide framework and comprehensive roadmap for attracting, and retaining early career talent.
  • Collaborate and partner with our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) leadership and Business Resource Networks (BRNs) to engage and develop early career talent with our strategic DEI partners to enable retention and advancement of high performing diverse talent.
  • Nurture meaningful, strategic relationships with external partners to ensure we deliver on our DEI commitment to our colleagues, clients, industry and communities.
  • Leverage our incredible Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and our employee experience framework to generate engaging content to build brand awareness with external stakeholders including educational institutions, external partners, and industry organizations - ensuring Ameriprise, RiverSource and Columbia Threadneedle Investments are well positioned to attract, develop and retain early career talent.
  • Build and grow close relationships and partnerships with business leaders to understand the capabilities and skills needed to build a pipeline of talent to support business goals and growth. Consult with leaders on various tactics and approaches to ensure effective utilization of early career programs.
  • Partner with our Head of Talent Insights to develop metrics, reports and dashboards to track progress, evaluate impact, determine meaningful success and identify opportunities for improvement. Incorporate ongoing improvement methods to ensure continued evolution and optimization of our early career programs to drive strategic value and meet the talent needs/priorities of the enterprise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Global experience leading end-to-end early career efforts within a global financial services company – including attraction, recruitment, onboarding and program development in collaboration with Talent & Development, Talent Acquisition, HRBPs and other key stakeholders. Demonstrated experience with early career recruitment in the US, UK, EMEA and APAC; experience in India strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of industry best practices and trends related to early career programs and innovative thinking skills that will drive increased strategic value to the firm.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. Ability to consult and influence at all levels in the organization. Proven success driving initiatives to completion while ensuring adoption.
  • Strong collaboration and team leadership skills to lead cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills with the demonstrated ability to translate talent data and insights into a compelling story that informs and drives strategy, action, and decision-making.
  • Experienced at leveraging tools, technologies, and resources to proactively source, engage, nurture, recruit and onboard talent. Experience with Handshake a plus.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience with the UK Apprenticeship levy.
