GBR Recruitment have an exciting opportunity within our M&E / MEP Building Services client for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their London Office (agile / hybrid working, with 1-2 days working from home). This is a permanent, full-time position working 36.25 hours per week.

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, who is design and solutions orientated, you will be a vital and pivotal role within the business, being a key member of the Electrical Design team and have a high degree of autonomy too on electrical project delivery.
The client is looking for a well-organised, flexible, driven, forward planner with the ability to deliver electrical design work to a high standard and to tight timescales. You should also be able to take on the ability to manage the Electrical Design engineering aspects of other more junior members of the team assisting on projects.
Key responsibilities will in this Electrical Bias role include:
- Acting as Project Leader / Project Manager on selected M&E projects
- Working as part of a larger team on certain electrical installation projects
- Attending principal meetings and delivering client presentations
- Delivering technical design excellence for all electrical engineering
- Over time, develop the ability to become a point of contact for key clients
- Help generate repeat business through customer care of existing clients
- Working on a variety of technically challenging and interesting projects
- Client facing, involved in all stages of a project (inception to completion)
- Working in a team environment to achieve a common goal
- Producing design drawings and design specifications
- Producing calculations or guiding others to complete them
Desired Experience:
- Ideally looking for someone with a Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design Engineering or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards) / or Candidates with HND / HNC with suitable design experience will also be considered.
- Design Software experience in Relux/Dialux, Amtech and Revit
- Strong knowledge of British and European Standards, Building Regulations documents etc.
- Knowledge of HTM’s would be beneficial
- Professional Membership (CIBSE, IET)
- Expert in HV/LV Electrical systems
- Knowledge of integration of embedded generation
- An understanding of incorporating various renewable technologies
- Working knowledge of BREEAM
- An appreciation and some knowledge of mechanical engineering beneficial
