The Building Design Team a busy, well-established, multi-disciplinary practice embedded within the Local Authority currently have an opportunity for a senior building services engineer, with a mechanical engineering specialism, to join the Building Services Engineering team on a permanent basis.
This position would ideally suit a candidate who is looking to step up to the next level or an existing engineer looking for a new challenge. Due to the seniority of this position, you will need to have extensive experience and preferably be working towards a relevant qualification.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering engineering solutions to various projects, so prior exposure to a wide range of project types including Office, Leisure, Education and Housing would be advantageous and should be demonstrable through their CV.
The position will involve a client facing role and so good communication skills and experience at presenting is a must. You'll also be assisting with the management of staff and working in teams with a multi-disciplinary aspect, so evidence of management and leadership experience would be desirable.
You will be getting involved with the whole design process, taking and developing engineering briefs, working on the initial design, through to delivery on site, so a range of design and site-based experience would be a bonus.
An understanding of BIM is required, with Revit and AutoCAD being the main software in use. There will also be flexibility within working patterns with the ability to work from home and time spent in the office.
