Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer
Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer within the Weapons Systems UK Engineering department in Barrow.
As a Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer, you will be contributing to the further development of future products whilst helping to maintain the UK's frontline capability.
You will play a key role in designing Electrical/Electronic systems for business critical projects such as 4.5" MK.8 Mod 1 Naval Gun, M777 and AS90.

You will gain exposure to all stages of the product lifecycle, whilst working across complex and interesting programmes.
Responsibilities
Duties will include:
Producing system designs (schematics, layouts) for complex engineering projects using industry standard tools, e.g. AltiumEquipment specification and selection; and collating equipment attributes to supporting build model and bill of material compilation.Supporting system design reviewsSystem/subsystem validation including generation of test schedules, test and integration plansSchedule own work to meet target timescales and budget demands, including assisting in the creation of low level schedules and task plansDrive change to implement efficient and effective strategies as advised by managementActively participate in specifying solutions for business needs and contribute to the process of continual improvement, with regard to self, team and systemsWork well under pressure, be flexible, positive & focused during times of change
Skills/ experience required- essential
Electrical/Electronic/Software background on complex engineering projectsAbility to interpret requirements specification and technical drawingsAn understanding of industry standards such as IPC-A-610/771/772Working knowledge of technical office process standards and standard instructions (BMS and LCM).Health and Safety awareness, including Product Safety.
Skills/ experience required- desirable
Engineering background in Weapons Systems or design for military use.Knowledge of MoD organisations and have experience of direct customer and supplier liaison.Knowledge of MATLAB/ Simulink (or equivalent package)
Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering or similar) with at least 3 years postgraduate experience within an engineering environment.Other qualifications such as HNC/HND are acceptable when combined with relevant experience
