The Role
Nu Quantum is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to accelerate the development of our novel photonic quantum networking solution. You will be working with a world-class team of scientists and engineers to design and develop brand-new electronic systems that will manipulate quantum information at high speed. Responsibilities
- Liaising with team members to determine architecture and requirements for brand-new electronic systems.
- Specification of appropriate components and equipment, including design of bespoke circuitry, to meet performance, time and cost constraints
- Carrying out design calculations and simulations.
- Producing high-quality system diagrams, electronic schematics and PCB layouts.
- Organising the manufacture of prototype systems.
- Testing, debugging and improving complex electronic and optical setups.
- Analysis of experimental results.
- Providing input to project timelines and budgets.
Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Degree-level qualification in electronics, physics or a related subject.
- Experience with requirements capture for electronic systems.
- Proven ability to design electronics at the PCB level.
- Use of a wide range of test and measurement equipment.
- Designing with FPGAs and/or high-performance microcontrollers.
- Experience with high-frequency and/or microwave design techniques.
- High level of attention to detail to deliver designs that are right the first time.
Other (Desirable but not required)
- Use of Altium Designer.
- Use of electromagnetic field modelling software.
- Experience with optoelectronic devices such as semiconductor lasers and photodetectors.
- Ability to modify and re-work PCBs with small surface-mount components.
- Experience working as part of highly multi-disciplinary teams
