Our client for over 60 years has developed underwater sensor technologies supporting industries ranging from defence and security to aquaculture and renewables. We are seeking to find astute and motivated Electronics Engineers to work on projects related to military, instrumentation, and acoustic systems.
What to expect in this role:
- New product electronics development and integration (design & test, commissioning)
- Existing product development (fault finding / improvement / enhancement)
- Support to Production Department test engineers
- Engineers (after settling in) would be expected to design, prototype and document a system. Then take it through to a manufacturability state. This may be as a task team leader.
- Checking & approving other engineer’s work.
- Support to Production and service may be required occasionally.
Essential:
- Candidates with a BSc (2:1) or a higher degree in a relevant electronics-engineering course at a UK university.
- Good written and presentational communication skills.
- Systems Engineering
- History of working with: Analog components / circuits, Operational Amplifier circuits and Power supply technology.
- Circuit analysis, modelling and theory.
- Analog-Digital Conversion
- Interfacing and IO (e.g. I2C and SPI bus)
- CAD Schematic layout (OrCAD Preferred)
- CAD PCB design
- Fault finding
- EMC Testing - CE and DEF-STAN 59-411
- Assembler and/or embedded 'C'
- Use of FPGA technologies.
Desirable:
- Product safety assessments
- Availability, reliability, and Maintainability Assessment
- Linux and other OS
- Professional Registration (IEng or CEng)
- IPC training
- OrCAD or other schematic tools training
- Management training
Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the business and sensitivity of projects; successful candidates will need to hold & maintain UK SC security clearance. British Citizenship is a must.
