Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking local authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision-making.

At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising), all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.

Job details

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, flexible and diligent Senior Enforcement Officer to assist the Enforcement Team leader in continuing to deliver a high-quality Enforcement Service within Huntingdonshire. Monitoring, investigating and pursuing breaches of planning regulations throughout the district. As an organisation, we are committed to delivering the highest quality services to meet the needs of our residents and businesses.

This role requires a high-calibre, experienced Enforcement Officer, who is passionate about making a difference and can help shape the organisation's approach to enforcement.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent skills, have a strong track record of successful delivery and be highly competent at stakeholder management across the breadth and depth of an organisation. A knowledge of the planning application process is essential for the role.

You will become part of a high-quality specialist group within Huntingdonshire, with the ability to champion the value of quality of the built environment in the area.

The job will involve scrutinising site histories and plans, carrying out site investigations, dealing with complainants and developers, making reasoned assessments, taking legal action when appropriate and communicating decisions to the parties concerned.

The service is committed to delivering real change and we are open to discussions from individuals who may be on their career journey and want to step up to the next role. Above all we want to recruit someone who is committed, enthusiastic, willing to learn and give something back to their local community.

Working for a district council provides a unique opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a positive change in the lives of many people. If this sounds like you, then we would be very interested to discuss this opportunity with you further.
