Senior Engineer - Design AssuranceScotstoun, near Glasgow - hybrid workingPermanent
Working on state of the art surface warships.
What you'll be doing:

Providing assurance to the customer and internal stakeholders that the desired performance is being met and maintained
·
Supporting the activities which underwrite the Design Assurance strategy, design resilience and protect the integrity of the design
·
Developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need
·
Management of artefacts that record the engineering design of the product
·
Developing, maintaining and modifying engineering management plans, and communicating them to internal and external stakeholders
·
Management of the Zonal Review and Compartment Plan Approval Processes
·
Management of Engineering Quality Issues and Stakeholder Observations relating to Compartment or 3D model reviews
·
Interacting with all stakeholders in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues
Your skills and experiences:
·
An understanding of the engineering design process and systems engineering lifecycle
·
Sound understanding of systems engineering methodologies and processes and experience in writing engineering processes and procedures
·
Understanding of the interaction between different engineering disciplines
·
Experience working in a customer-facing and/or supplier engagement role
·
Experience working within the Maritime Engineering industry would be advantageous
·
Experience in the BAE Systems Naval Ships Zonal Review (Zx) and Compartment Plan Approval Processes would be advantageous
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Systems Engineering Team:You will have the opportunity to work across the integrated whole ship, which includes development of the design from conception and evolution, through to Customer delivery. The role itself is developing from proven practices to new possibilities and will provide opportunities to utilise a wide range of skills as well as growing your skills and experience.
