Job Title: Senior Engineer (Simulation, Performance & Application) - Global Engine Development Platform
Salary: £52,380 + Dependent Upon Experience
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Job Summary
As a Senior Engineer (Simulation, Performance & Application) - Global Engine Development Platform, you will report to the 400 Series Engine Platform Development Manager. You will have responsibility for conducting testing, development and sign off for the 1.7L and 2.2L Engine programmes under the direct responsibility of the 400 Series team. You will be accountable for process excellence, maintaining engineering best practices and documentation.
The 400 Series Platform Development team are responsible for developing and managing robust engine and aftertreatment calibrations focused on meeting complex regulatory, business and customer requirements. The team applies deep technical knowledge to data analysis, converting data into decisions, generating technical review and sign-off material, to ensure that our product recipe is of the highest quality and delivered on time. This is a highly visible team that works directly with all areas of engineering and will, at times report out directly to our product groups.
You will work closely with the Performance Systems Integration engineering team to define & deliver robust methods in achieving the Product Objectives and Technical Objectives (PO’s/TO’s) within the IPSD-M 400 Series product range. You will also work closely with the GED Test operations team to ensure quality data is achieved and with our Virtual Calibration Team in maximising the value of simulation-based calibration.

What You Will Do
Collaborate with customers and leadership to scope and execute projects that meet the needs of the business
Plan, manage and deliver tests to tight time scales and to right quality
Conduct and/or direct tests (including Design of Experiments), checking data quality, test result integrity and repeatability.
Accountable for delivering timely, high-quality simulation and analysis impacting products/processes and providing clear recommendations to stakeholders
Keep up-to-date on new technologies and drive continuous improvement to established techniques
Coach and train junior members of the team on best practices in Performance Calibration development
Collaborate with global team to drive global alignment and best practices
What You Have
Effective Communication - Extensive Knowledge:

Previous leadership experience (direct or in-direct)
Self-confidence and a 'passion for the product' are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high-pressure environment
Problem Solving - Extensive Knowledge:
Excellent problem solver and attention to detail
Hands on engine testing and problem-solving experience
Technical Excellence - Extensive Knowledge:
Experience in combustion, performance, and economy development of compression ignition engines
Experience in the running engines on testbeds and analysing emissions and performance information to influence calibration decisions
Experience of developing simulation based calibrations
Project Management - Extensi Knowledge:
Project Management methods and processes
