Senior Environmental Manager

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement comprehensive environmental management plans in accordance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
2. Conduct environmental impact assessments, identifying potential risks and proposing effective mitigation measures.
3. Collaborate with project teams, government agencies, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with environmental objectives and standards.
4. Manage and coordinate environmental monitoring programs, ensuring timely data collection and analysis.
5. Provide guidance on sustainable construction practices and materials to reduce the project's carbon footprint.
6. Advise on ecological conservation and biodiversity enhancement measures.
7. Oversee the preparation and submission of environmental permit applications.
8. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with environmental requirements.
9. Lead and mentor a team of environmental professionals, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.
10. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, presenting environmental performance updates and addressing concerns.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in environmental management, particularly on large-scale infrastructure projects, with a focus on highways schemes.
3. In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and permitting processes.
4. Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead a team and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
6. Professional certifications such as Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or similar would be advantageous.
7. Familiarity with environmental impact assessment tools and methodologies.
8. A commitment to sustainability and a passion for driving environmentally responsible practices.
