Morrison Water Services are currently looking to recruit a Senior Estimator to work on our Thames Water Lot 4 Term Contract.
The Lot 4 Contract will have a turnover of £35 million per annum and will be in place for a minimum of five years with potential for eight years. The schemes will be Water Infrastructure, (clean water and waste), mainly Developer Services led with individual schemes up to £3million in value. The workload covers the geographical area of London and Thames Valley.
As Senior Estimator you will be part of an estimating team reporting through our Thames Water Capital Programme organisational structure, responsible for delivering accurate and timely estimates across a mix of one-off projects. The location of the role could either be home based, office based or a combination of both dependant on your preference and home location.
You’ll be providing estimating support with bids and contracts to ensure robust pricing, risk management and governance. Assisting and advising the Senior Management Team on commercial influences and risks around any bids.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to produce accurate and timely estimates/cost data. Ensure where possible supplier/subcontractor terms are back-to-back with the client requirements and if not to impact assess any deviations.
Responsible for prioritising workload and supporting the team to produce results in a timely manner to meet business needs. Day to day liaison with, and influencing of, key stakeholders, such as customers and operational colleagues.
Developing and implementing changes to process, following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance.
Are you degree qualified in engineering, Quantity Surveying, cost & planning or similar?
Do you have experience within the water industry? Preferably within both water and waste water environments, but also advantageous to have other utility estimating experience This will be essential for this role.
Are you experienced in delivering water and/or wastewater projects?
Can you identify opportunities and influence change?
Are you an effective communicator, with negotiating and people management skills?
Can you react to constant workloads and delegate accordingly?
Do you have good commercial and contractual knowledge and understanding?
Are you able to follow process and governance?
Can you present and use planning and visual software applications?
Are you knowledgeable in estimating tools and techniques?
