Senior Estimator

In this newly created career opportunity, you will be responsible for development and delivery of all assigned estimating, bids and tenders for high value complex construction engineering projects and solutions to our KAD Uk Defence Infrastructure project.

Remit and responsibilities will include;

· Prepare detailed bottom up total cost estimates.

· Create Work Breakdown Structure in line with project control requirements.

· Review and verify Scope Clarifications and Specification enquiries pre-submission.

· Establish Risk apportioned to the estimate and establish Estimate classification

· Verify and validate Estimate pre-submission.

· Configuration control of estimate updates and consequent estimate iterations.

· Liaise with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction team in assembling estimate base data

· Liaise with and respond to Client Cost/Commercial team

· Collate/Maintain estimating norms and historical data

· Implement current estimating processes, developing new processes as required.

· Support Estimate and Contract handover to Project team.

· Support the implementation of the new systems and working practices required for Commercial Projects

· Undertake estimates of project scope changes updating overall estimate accordingly

· Liaise closely with the planning and delivery teams

· Liaise with internal and external customers to substantiate estimates as required

Applicants should a strong background in cost estimating with experience in various estimating techniques from detailed bottom up to high level parametric comparisons. You should also have a good understanding of project control, Work Breakdown Structures, monitoring techniques and Earned Value Management (EVM).

Estimating experience in one or more of the following areas – Power Generation, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Construction, Utilities, Marine or Defence would be beneficial.
