About the Trust

What you’ll be responsible for:
· Reconciliation and maintenance of designated Balance Sheet accounts in accordance with procedures and regulations. Including follow up action and any processing required.
· Process professional fee expenses and re-claims.
· Complete quarterly agreement of NHS expenditure and follow-up of any matters related to this, to facilitate the quarter and year-end Agreement of Balances reconciliation exercise and completion of the Trust’s returns that feed into the national consolidated accounts.
· Assist in the preparation of the Statutory Annual Accounts for the Trust, together with supporting statements and certificates, in accordance with good accounting practice and in compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards and the guidance issued by the Department of Health and Social Care.
· Assist in preparing and maintaining relevant procedure notes.
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· CCAB Part Qualified or higher, with good grasp of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and accounting regulation;
· Specialist knowledge of NHS Financial regime and accounting practice including Trust policies e.g., Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders and delegated limits;
· Excellent IT skills, including Excel and use of finance systems
· Ability to carry out highly complex calculations and reconciliations
· Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate complex financial information to non-specialist staff clearly and concisely
· Working knowledge of P.A.Y.E. and VAT
· Previous NHS experience (desirable)
This role may require you to show evidence of education to Degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
