Senior Fp&A Analyst

My client, a leading nationwide hospitality business, are looking to recruit a senior FP&A analyst to join their stunning Chester head office (2-3 days in the office).

Due to some internal movements in the finance team, my client is now looking to hire a Senior FP&A Analyst, who will act as a close support to the Head of FP&A. The senior FP&A Analyst will be expected to help with training and development of junior staff, as well as taking on the more complex pieces of work within the team.

Whilst experience in FP&A and management accounting is ideal for this role, they also need someone who is able to take on various ad hoc commercial projects, and really show where they can add value. In addition, the FP&A team need to act as reliable business partners to various areas of the business, as well as being comfortable working closely with the CFO and other senior figureheads.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the FP&A Team through preparing and presenting analysis that enables and supports decision-making:
• Month-end reporting: analyse past and current performance and follow up with stakeholders to add insight and value
• Weekly reporting: ensure this reporting is produced in an accurate and timely manner, enabling stakeholders to make key decisions based on this data
• Proactively look for and analyse opportunities to improve performance
• Assist with building accurate budgets and forecasts for all operations
• Develop a thorough understanding of current systems and processes to drive efficiencies and improvements
• Provide support to other departments to develop and maintain any KPI, or other reporting requirements, as necessary
• Liaise with the IT team to ensure data is captured, stored and able to be accessed effectively
• Ad-hoc projects and tasks as determined by the Head of FP&A

The ideal candidate will be:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• Prior FP&A experience in industry, with proven ability to business partner with non-finance
• Experience within a multisite/hospitality/retail environment highly desirable
• Strong Excel skills
• Confident, ambitious, articulate and able to quickly add commercial value
