The Regulatory & Strategic IT Programmes unit is responsible for the delivery of significant and strategically important   cross-asset initiatives as well as responsible for the portfolio management function of MSS Technology. This unit is key to enabling us to more effectively respond to new regulatory and strategic demands and align to our business stakeholders. 

This role relates to FRTB with focus on delivery of regulatory requirements.

This is a hybrid role, responsible for managing and driving change in both business and IT. The scope of the role is Front to back, and includes management of deliverables across MSS Front Office, Markets Middle Office, Traded Risk, Product Control and Global Risk Analytics. The role contributes to the planning, design and implementation of the FRTB programme globally and leads specific streams within the wider programme. The role works within an Agile at Scale delivery structure which the Programme has adopted.

FRTB is a significant regulatory change with significant impact on the capital requirements for Market Risk as well as on how the business is organized and managed. There are a number of changes to risk calculations, data and analytics with resultant impact on the systems and processes across Global Markets, Risk and Product Control.

Execution of the FRTB programme is spread over a number of functional deliveries across the Markets Front Office, Middle Office, Traded Risk, Group Risk Analytics, Product Control, Regulatory Finance, Internal Model Review and the associated technology teams. This role is key in ensuring the Agile delivery approach is followed on a Front-to-back basis, overall requirements are captured in backlogs, high quality Product Roadmaps exist, key Agile ceremonies are embedded into execution, and key risks and issues are identified, escalated and managed on a timely basis. This role needs to work effectively with Traders, Traded Risk and Finance.

In this role you will:

·         Understand the overall book of work in effecting FRTB changes within HSBC, and the scope of each of the teams within this

·         Using the knowledge of FRTB, identify high level gaps and requirements to address these

·         Working closely with the Chief Product Owner, Product Owners, Domain Leads, Testing Leads and Architects, coordinate and drive definition of requirements, agree handshakes with each ‘supplier’ and ensure the deliveries are as agreed

·         Create and maintain an end-to-end Product Roadmap for specific Business Outcomes within FRTB, linking to deliverables in each of the supplier plans

·         Ensure active participation and contribution from each team represented in the Front-to-back Feature and Business Outcome teams

·         Oversight of feature delivery leads responsible for day to day management of the feature teams driving the implementation for the business outcome

Request

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

·         The role requires an in-depth understanding of front office trading and/or Risk, quantitative modelling for front office valuations or risk calculations, knowledge of systems and processes underpinning trading and post-trade activities, alongside strong Project Management capabilities. Knowledge of the equities business is advantageous.

·         Understanding of FRTB’s impact on market risk capital calculations

·         Understanding of valuation of capital markets products, and related processes such as PnL explain, Independent Price Verification and Fair Value adjustments.

·         Experience of delivering complex front-to-back programmes applying Agile delivery models

·         Experience managing Regulatory Change (Business and IT) within Front office environment.

 

This role is based in London and offers hybrid working.
