About this role:
As a senior web engineer you will work as part of a small agile team tasked with migrating legacy customer-facing applications to modern stacks, ensuring feature parity, quality and high availability throughout. You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the applications throughout the migration and will deliver against technical and business requirements as they arise.
You will be involved in every stage of the process, working closely with stakeholders and product managers to deliver great software. You will also be responsible for defining technical solutions, delivering high quality code and supporting other engineers within the team.

- Work with a wide range of colleagues of different skill sets, across the business (and the world).
- Track the progress of projects, manage their timelines and communicate updates to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with your team to design and develop elegant solutions to complex business problems.
- Uphold and champion best practises and high standards for you, your team, and across the engineering community.
- Take responsibility for supporting your changes, proving that they work well – and continue to work well – in production.
- Coaching and mentoring more junior team members and leading on frontend best practice
What will you bring to the table?
- Strong software engineering fundamentals (data structures, design patterns, testing, and debugging).
- Experience developing, testing, releasing, and maintaining frontend applications.
- Solid understanding of modern Javascript and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of REST principles and GraphQL.
Desirable experience includes:
- HTML / CSS (frameworks and preprocessors e.g., SASS, LESS)
- Solid understanding of SEO and SEO development practices
- React / Next.js.
- Build and bundling tools
- Unit, integration and end-to-end testing tools and frameworks
- Version control (i.e., Git)
- Other frontend frameworks (e.g., Vue or LIT)
- PHP understanding
- Sitecore
- AWS or equivalent
