Senior Group Financial Accountant

JSS are proudly partnering with an impressive and market-leading PLC based near Reading. Due to impressive growth a new opportunity for a Senior Group Financial Accountant to join the team has opened.

This role will play an integral role in the group accounting team, working through group consolidation, statutory financial statements for the group subsidiaries, and a leading role in working collaboratively with other finance and cross functional team members. The successful candidate will be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment, interacting with all levels of our organization and internal and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform the group consolidation and produce consolidated financial statements at year end in accordance with UK GAAPs and IFRS.
• Prepare subsidiary financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Management of year-end audit schedules and liaising with external auditors to ensure year end audit process runs smoothly.
• Liaise with operational finance teams across the business to solve accounting problems.
• Produce technical accounting papers to support complex queries as they arise, including management papers for the year end audit.
• Ensure accounting policies are reflected in group reporting and kept up to date for new accounting developments.
• Support the implementation of the new financial reporting system.
• Adhoc support as required by the Head of Reporting.

Why You:

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) accountant.
• Strong technical accounting skills with experience in either a practice or industry role (IFRS and FRS 101)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong IT skills with experience in Excel and financial accounting software
• Must possess a process improvement mindset.
