Key Responsibilities
- Undertake regular compliance site audits and incident investigations and preparing reports
- Mentoring employees at all levels of the business to ensure effective delivery of, and improvements to, the management systems and improve safety culture throughout the organisation
- Preparation / review of risk assessments and safe procedures
- Carry out compliance evaluations and maintain H&S legal register
- Support Health and Safety team in carrying out inductions, training, and toolbox talks
- Monitoring, delivery of internal audits and on-site inspections
- Working closely with project managers and supervisors ensuring company Health and Safety policies and procedures are being adhered to throughout all business activities Preparing reports in relation to performance against objectives and targets.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Well-rounded, highly motivated health & safety professional with exceptional communication skills and customer-focused, pragmatic approach to Health and Safety
- Previous (Minimum 5 years) Health and Safety Advisor / Manager experience, in highways / civil / utilities sector and can demonstrate practical experience as a Health and Safety professional across a diverse range of Health and Safety risks
- Good working knowledge of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Temporary works
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualified and a member of IOSH who is highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- You should be experienced and proactive in developing and supporting the implementation of Health and Safety management systems and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of an organisation
- A proven track record of the management of thorough accident investigations and corrective action
- Excellent IT skills with experience across, MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel to expert level is essential as is experience of analysing and interpreting data, drafting complex reports and delivering training and briefings to others
- You will be the first point of Health and Safety advice for the business. You will also work collaboratively with the rest of the Health and Safety Team as part of our day-to-day work Experience with ISO standards and auditing, with an auditor qualification is preferable.
