Would you like to be an integral part of our innovative Health and Safety Advisory Service? This is a Shared Health Safety Service which is hosted by North Yorkshire Council but also supports the City of York Council and several council owned companies.
We are looking for two experienced Senior Health and Safety Risk Advisors due to growth within the team, to be a part of the exciting transformational journey under a newly formed Unitary Council. This is an excellent opportunity to shape and embed quality Health and Safety Risk management across our services old and new to North Yorkshire Council. As a shared Health and Safety service we also provide Health and Safety to City of York Council, as well as supporting commercial clients.
The role
As a Senior Health and Safety Risk Advisor you will continue to deliver excellent Health and Safety support and expertise into the variety of different services, help monitor compliance with statutory requirements, supporting the implementation of good practice to continuously improve and make a difference. The nature of role will be extremely varied however, knowledge and/or experience of Construction Design and Management and/or Fire Safety would be an advantage (although not essential as training and mentoring will be provided to the successful applicant).

What you will bring
- A Level 6 Accredited Occupational Safety and Health Course (recognised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) (or equivalent - Equivalence will be the mix of qualifications and/or experience that has or can achieve Certified membership of IOSH)
- Proven and effective experience of delivery of a “competent person” role
- Effective persuasion, influencing and negotiating skills
- Evidence of continuous professional development
