An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker within Inpatient 1 department.

This post offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills with a broad range of patients and gain new skills in assisting in the rehabilitation of patients. The successful candidate will work with a multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care and support is given to defined patient group within Inpatients 1.

You will be required to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team is essential. Venepuncture would be advantageous but not essential as training will be supported.

• This vacancy is under the Annex 21 policy in accordance with Annex U of the Agenda for Change terms and conditions – As a trainee undergoing training, pay is determined as a percentage of the Band maximum salary for qualified staff. On completion of your training, you will be placed on either the first pay point of the appropriate pay band or the next pay point above your training salary. If the candidate does not possess a SVQ 3/relevant experience as detailed in the person specification there may be the opportunity to undertake an Annex 21 Training opportunity, where there will be the opportunity to gain an SVQ 3 whilst working for NHS Orkney.
