Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior HR Advisor for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR HR ADVISOR
- To Support the HR Manager (Policy, Pay and Reward), with development and promotion of a range of strategic HR initiatives in pursuit of the Council’s values and the workforce / OD Strategies.
- To champion client’s Workforce/OD Strategies across the organisation, whilst also helping to shape and design the continuing evolution of these strategies.
- Support the maintenance of an equality proofed pay structure, using NJC job evaluation and HAY grading schemes. Promoting to senior managers the importance of compliance and the risks of non-adherence.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR HR ADVISOR
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work as and when required
- Ability to work effectively whilst managing a variety of competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation
- Professional commitment to the provision and delivery of high quality HR procedures and advice and high standards of customer care
- Ability to deliver advice without access to support
- Have excellent interpersonal and engagement skills
- Ability to work in partnership with colleagues/stakeholders to achieve aims and priorities
- Ability to establish working relationships with customers and stakeholders of HR Services
- Ability to present data and complex information
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to Influence/persuade
- Ability to work with, analyse and present data and MI in order to influence stakeholders to make informed business decisions.
- Responsible and flexible approach to work both individually and as a team member
- Basic training skills in order to assist with the delivery of workshops and other sessions on HR processes and procedures
- Experience of managing a multiple and varied case load
- Good professional judgement based on analysis of relevant factors and an ability to prioritise
- Experience of writing HR Policies and procedures
- Detailed knowledge of the Local Government Job evaluation scheme
- Awareness and some knowledge of the HAY evaluation scheme
- Demonstrates ability to respond positively to changes in work allocation at short notice, working under pressure and own initiative
- Detailed knowledge of employment law
- Detailed knowledge of Local Government policies, processes and practices
- Detailed knowledge of Equalities
- Evidence of continuous professional development (where applicable)
- CIPD or equivalent - or significant HR (JE) Experience
- Membership of CIPD
