Our growing Technology team plays a key role in ensuring OS is at the cutting edge of geospatial capability and is looking for people to join them. Its mission is to work across the business to provide customer centric design and technology services.
Join the Ordnance Survey’s Automatic Feature Extraction team as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer and contribute to solving business and customer problems using Microsoft’s cloud offering Azure to orchestrate exciting new solutions. Be part of a multidisciplinary production delivery team and actively engage in the analytical community at OS.
Who We're Looking For: We welcome applicants who have a passion for building systems. If you have some or all of the following skills and experiences, we'd love to hear from you:
- Strong knowledge in orchestrating systems in the cloud.
- Thrives when leading, coaching and mentoring an engineering team.
- Good track record in influencing key business & technical stakeholders.
- Passionate about implementing new engineering techniques within a development team to drive efficiencies and problem solving.
- Expert knowledge and skills in software engineering & industry best practice (including (TDD, CI, Clean Code, creating testable code, Design Patterns).
Technologies We Use: YAML, Bicep, Azure Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Function Apps, Azure Batch. Our wider team also uses Python, Esri ArcPro and geoprocessing tools, FME, SQL and AzureML.
While not required, the following skills would be a plus:
- Experience of using AzureML to orchestrate Machine Learning models.
- Experience of processing geospatial data.

Location
OSHQ is based in Southampton, Hampshire but at OS we believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go.
