• Location: Central London, Hybrid
• Reports to: Head of Internal Audit & Compliance

Our client, a leading transport operator, are looking for a dedicated Senior Internal Auditor to provide assurance to the CFO and the Board that suitable mitigations or controls are in place to address key business, operational, and financial risks.

The ideal candidate will focus on efficiency and continuous improvement, maximising the use of technological solutions, particularly those offered by Microsoft 365.

Day to Day of the Senior Internal Auditor role:

• Deliver audit and consultancy assignment reports according to the approved risk-based methodology and to agreed deadlines.
• Assist management in the development of action plans and advise on policy and procedure requirements or updates.
• Conduct control awareness training with managers and engage in project work and special investigations into business issues.
• Collaborate with the Internal Audit and Compliance team, the Group Risk and Internal Audit team, and the Finance Directorate.
• Engage with directors as internal audit business owners and work with colleagues from their teams as auditees.

Required Skills & Qualifications for Senior Internal Auditor:

• Qualified Accountant (CCAB) or Internal Auditor (CIIA) [ESSENTIAL].
• Proficiency in Oracle or other GL Accounting Systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; SharePoint and Power BI are desirable.
• Strong understanding of risk management and controls.
• Strategic approach to audit, supported by detailed evidence.
• Effective use of data to plan and execute audits.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate findings clearly at all levels of the organisation.
• Proactive approach to personal and business continual improvement.

Experience:

• Experience in internal or external audit within large, complex businesses.
• Track record of delivering audits on time and with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated value of internal audit in previous roles.
