Senior Internal Auditor - Newly Created Team

Audit & Risk Recruitment are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a Senior Internal Auditor to join a multi-billion turnover business based in Hertfordshire. This is a unique opportunity the likes of which rarely come to market, where the successful candidate will be joining a brand-new team and taking on a greenfield project and making a real impact within an organisation.

The business has grown rapidly over the last few years and is involved in some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects and are now looking to centralise the Group’s functions. Having recently hired a charismatic Head of Audit & Risk they are starting to implement a risk-based approach to their audits.

What you will be doing:

• Working as part of a new team to deliver a broad range of financial and operational audits, from planning through to completion.
• Ensuring the audits are completed to the required quality standards and timeframe, evaluating the effectiveness of controls, and identifying themes.
• Contributing to projects to improve processes and systems, as well as other assurance work such as fraud investigations.
• Having input into the Group’s strategy and the continued development of the Group Assurance function, including keeping up to date with wider developments in our industry and the Internal Audit profession.

To be considered you are likely to be ACA/ACCA or CIA qualified and hail from a practice background. This could be a good move for those looking to make their first moves out of practice, or second audit role in industry where they feel they want to make an impact. Whilst you do not need to have relevant industry experience, this would not be suitable for those with FS focused experience. The business offers real flexible working, with some office time needed but not on a weekly basis.
