Senior IT Specialist

12 Month contract

£35k - £42k Depending on experience + Additional benefits

This is a hybrid role. Their office is based in Bedford with travel to various sites required, so you must have a full UK driving licence with your own vehicle.

Are you looking for a hands-on and varied role? Do you have experience of providing 3rd line support?

We are looking for a Senior IT specialist to join our well-established client due to growth. This position would suit an experienced 3rd line support engineer with a flair for problem solving, a genuine interest in IT automation and a desire to learn and develop further.

A key responsibility of this role is to help project manage and drive forward key workstreams from the automation/digitalisation agenda and support the Head of IT and IT Operations Manager to deliver key outcomes from that plan.

You will support 65 clinics across the UK with complex hardware and software issues and setting clinics up with new hardware and software. Previous exposure working for or with the NHS would be an advantage, but it not essential!

The role:

  • You will be responsible for supporting with 3rd line complex queries remotely and on site
  • Liaising with external IT support company
  • Ensuring smooth set up of all IT software and hardware for new sites, co-ordinating with suppliers for internet supply etc.
  • Setting up new employees and training remotely and on site
  • Setting up hardware at new sites
  • Fault finding and rectifying
  • Project support to new site set ups

Experience:

  • This role would suit an experienced 3rd line support engineer.
  • Proven track record of problem solving and dealing with complex issues.
  • Management of small to medium projects desired
  • Knowledge of all MS Office programmes
  • Hands on experience of technical issues
  • Must be resilient and proactive
  • Must be a strong communicator
  • Public sector knowledge is desirable
