About us IOE is UCL Faculty of Education and Society. The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Media and Cultural Studies, Art, Design and Museology; Academic writing; English education: Applied Linguistics; Music Education; Multimodality studies; Learning with Digital Technologies. You will be located in the International Centre for Intercultural Studies. The Centre promotes intellectually rigorous, practically relevant and interdisciplinary Intercultural Studies that advance understanding of the role of culture in society, education and communication and inform intercultural practices and policy. About the role You will work with the NCLE Director, the Director of Strategic Learning Futures and the NCLE team to develop and deliver a national CPD programme for Language Hub Lead School specialist teachers and all teachers of Languages, including support for Home, Heritage and Community Languages, across the 9 government regions in England. The CPD offer will be hybrid, involving face-to-face and virtual training, supported by digital modules that can be completed asynchronously. You will collaborate with colleagues in IOE, IOE NCLE and IOE CI to play a significant role in supporting the successful delivery of the new DFE-funded nationwide Language Hubs Programme. This post may be offered on a secondment basis either for UCL staff or from a school. Please note there is the possibility of job share. The post is funded to 2nd March 2026 in the first instance. About you You will have extensive experience of working in or with state secondary schools in England and experience of writing curriculum materials and assessments for Spanish, French and/or German. Qualified teacher status is desirable.
