Senior Financial Accountant - Lease Accounting
REMOTE working - you can be based anywhere in the UK (occasional travel to our clients US Head office)
£50-65k + exceptional benefits and opportunities to progress
Our client is a high growth global organisation with a head office in the US and a central finance function in Nottingham. They require a technically strong Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA), trained in either BIG 4 or top 10 firm and ideally some industry experience post qualification (our client is considering first time movers too to join their business as a Senior Financial Accountant to sit as part of their group accounting team.
You will work autonomously with responsibility for a range of activities including:
- Supporting the group accounting team with all aspects of lease accounting.
- Providing accurate financial data to support business decisions through the recording of these transactions to the general ledger for review, reconciliation, reporting, and analysis
- Ensuring the proper policies and controls are in place - specifically applying GAAP, IFRS guidelines and ASC 842
- Preparation and reporting of the consolidated financial statements under GAAP / IFRS.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for leases, asset retirement obligations
- Prepare month-end close activities, including calculations, journal entries and other relevant documentation
- Build accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of financial data
- Document and ensure appropriate controls are in place throughout areas of accounting responsibilities
- Perform analytical review of lease related balances and provide balance sheet account movements to support cash flow reporting
- Review complex transaction activity for technical accounting, with an emphasis on ASC 842
- Prepare audit ready documentation and participate in audit coordination for assigned areas
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of lease processes, procedures, policies and systems to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policy
- Use qualitative and quantitative analytical tools and techniques to translate data into useful business insights to constructively challenge and support business stakeholders
- Cultivate strong relationships with accounting staff, key customers, business partners, and stakeholders
- Provide recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures, especially in the lease area
To be considered you will need to possess the relevant accounting qualifications and experience to date. Your technical accounting skills, knowledge of applying GAAP, IFRS accounting standards is important . You enjoy working autonomously and interacting with a range of colleagues (Our clients team are based globally). You will need strong analysis skills (in particular using MS Excel). This role is ideally suited to a 1st or 2nd mover from practice.
